The Special Olympics 2014 Pancyprian Games officially began on 27 October, under the auspices of the Municipality and the Mayor of Nicosia Mr. Constantinos Yiorgadjis.

During the events the athletes of New Hope Private Special School gave their best in cycling, swimming, athletics, basketball, football and bowling. Our athletes’ results are as follows:

Participation of Louis Tsivikos, George Andreou, Nasia Kimisi Antigone Georgiadis and Alexandra Miltiadous in basketball.

Participation of Nicos Limniotis in football. In bowling Alexandra Miltiadous won 2 gold medals while Antigone Georgiadou won gold and a bronze.

In cycling Chloe Demitriadou won 3rd place In swimming Christiana Kyriakidou won the gold medal in the 50 meter freestyle and in the same event Maria Kyriakidou ranked third.

Timotheos Vasiliou won the gold medal in the 50m backstroke and silver in the 100 meters freestyle. George Andreou ranked third in shot-put.

Aaron Elmatzian took the 1st place at the 25metres run. Nasia Kimisi received the gold medal in the 100 meters and 200 meter run.

Nicos Limniotis participated in the 100 meter run. It is worth noting that the athletes Nasia Kimisi Alexandra Miltiadous, Christiana Kyriakidou, Maria Kyriakidou with the dancers from the London School of Ballet took part in the ritual dance of the Opening Ceremony.

The choreographer was Ms. Vicky Agapiou of London School of Ballet.
